Passing Time and Moving Water…

Hello all, hope you are all well and are having a great weekend.

I realise I haven’t blogged for a while so thought I’d update you on what’s been going on in my life.  So much, is the answer.  To say I’ve been busy would be an understatement, however, I’m here now; I’m fine and ready to blog.

Most of you may have picked up by now that I am part way through the first course of a photography degree, so one of the reasons for not blogging for a while is due to lots of photography related activity.  Not just taking pictures and post processing them but also a lot of reading around the subject of photography as contemporary art and it’s practitioners.  I have also been visiting lots of photography related exhibitions.

So my aim today is not to bore you with photography tips and techniques but more to provide you with a round-up (with photos where possible) of what I’ve been doing since my last post (in addition to my day job which I won’t bore you with)…  So here goes:

21 May 2016 – Photo London exhibition and an ‘in conversation’ with Ed Burtynsky and David Campany

26 May 2016 – Reflex Photography club (Clash of the Titans competition)

28 May 2016 – Wet Plate Collodion demonstration and talk

28 May 2016 – Played around with Lightroom and NIK filters

29 May 2016 – A day at Brands Hatch giving panning a go

Then I had a week off catching up with friends and family… including having my nails done which was a nice treat.

9 June 2016 – Reflex Photography Club (AGM)

10 June 2016 – Switching the Lens, in conversation with Ghanaian photographer James Barnor and Margaret Busby OBE and a talk by Martin Barnes, senior curator of the Paul Strand exhibition at the V&A

11 June 2016 – Moving Water, bringing together experimental music and performance art, courtesy of Bjorn Veno and the Errorists

And that concludes my update, so that’s all folks…  Until the next time.  Peace!
