Light trails, night motion…

Posted in Daily Jollop with tags , , , , , , , , , on 11 October 2015 by misselisabethuk

This is part 2 of my experimentation with slower shutter speeds and my first time of taking any photos at night.  I share with you, below, a couple of photos I took last night not too far from where I took the photos for my last post It’s all about the motion…

Warning!! you will need a tripod for this and a gentle button pushing finger action 🙂

Watling Street: 4 sec. f/11 25mm (Lightroom used to reduce the sodium glare from the streetlights)

Watling Street: 4 sec. f/11 25mm ISO 200

Watling Street: 4 sec. f/11 17mm

Watling Street: 4 sec. f/11 17mm ISO 200

I used Adobe Lightroom to reduce the effects of the sodium streetlights, taking out the orange/yellow glow.

Hope this inspires those of you who are new to photography to give this a go, or those veteran photographers to go and take some more night shots!

Have a lovely weekend all.

Spring has sprung…

imageWalking in the park this morning I was delighted to be greated by swathes of purple crocus flowers, not just emerging from the ground but now sprouting and about to flower.  How quickly spring creeps up on us and now it is truly here (well as far as the crocus thinks so, which is good enough for me).

Let’s get crafty…

Good morning all.

It was recently my birthday so I decided to treat myself to some paper crafting tools.

I bought a Cuttlebug embossing and die cutting machine, a stars embossing folder and a couple of Tattered Lace die sets (flower and butterfly).

To start with I found it a bit tricky but once I had consulted with the hints and tips sheet on the Tattered Lace website all was well:

If in doubt, bake a cake…

I fancied something sweet this evening but couldn’t be bothered to go to the shops.  So there was only one thing for it… bake a cake.  And that is exactly what I did.  Banana cake – yum yum.  Washed down with some Camomile tea (courtesy of Fortnum and Mason).

Apologies for the lack of focus on some of these pics lol, too much cake was consumed in the making of this blog!!

Today was baking….

It’s not often I get the urge to bake but today was one of those ‘of the moment’ moments…

Searching through my cupboards I found a chocolate fudge cake which I have to admit was just out of date.  Amazing really as nothing stays in the cupboards in my house for very long.  Still, I rustled up this little treatable…

I was going to say that no-body was hurt in the making of this cake… but I guess that remains to be seen.  It was very yummy!!!
